Preparing for your professional cabinet painting is pretty simple. Since you will be unable to access your kitchen for about 3-4 days there are definitely some things you need to do prior to our arrival. We will be sealing your kitchen off from the rest of the house. This protects all of the surrounding areas of your home. We also cover and seal anything within our work area that needs protection. While the kitchen is sealed it is best that you do not enter the area, and please do not cut or rip any of the plastic or paper that has been put into place by our team.
Preparing for Your Professional Cabinet Painting: Check List
Preparing for our arrival means you should take care of the following items before we arrive;
- Remove all items from your countertops
- Remove all items in drawers since we will need to remove drawer fronts, however, you may keep items in your cabinets
- Remove any decorative items from the tops of your cabinets and dust the tops of your cabinets as well
- Remove any food items that you might need in the next 3 to 4 days
- Remove any paper plates, utensils, or other items you might need.
- Remove window treatments and wall decor that might be in the way
- Think about setting up what you might need as a temporary kitchen in another area of the house, or just plan on eating out or ordering take out for the next 3 to 4 days.
Preparing for Professional Cabinet Painting: What happens next.
When we arrive we will remove your cabinet doors and drawers as well as any necessary panels. We sand down everything with a dustless sander. If there is enough room in your kitchen we will sand and spray the doors on site. If you do not have room for an on site spray or if you are located in the city, we will take the doors to our spray facility for painting.
